Resident Actor is also a writer, educator, curator and DJ. Michael Wiener believes that the spirit of improvisation is a building block for the most fully-realized, incendiary storytelling artistry. A staged reading of his play Regulars was directed by Andy Paris, as part of the first annual edition of Regulars: A Mini-Festival of Works-in-Progress, co-founded with Michael Laurence. Avant rock music collaboration (as vocalist-lyricist) The Children…, featuring members of Swans, Human Impact, Cop Shoot Cop and Barkmarket, released an LP on the Erototox Decodings label, spring 2024. The label reissued The Children…’s self-released debut in spring 2026. His latest band, The Social X-Rays, debuts live in fall 2026. Michael is an ensemble member of Blessed Unrest and frequently collaborates with Tony Torn, and previously, Liz Magic Laser. He earned an M.A. with a Creative Writing concentration in an interdisciplinary liberal arts program at Dartmouth College during the pandemic. Michael serves on the Dartmouth Club Executive Committee, the National Arts Club Theater, Music, Film, and Roundtable Committees, including co-chairing and co-producing the 2024-26 Halloween Balls and is a Board Advisor on Foundation Funding for the Unite for Health Foundation.
